It's no surprise that one of my favourite brands is Bang Bang Copenhagen. When I co-owned I Dream Elephants, I would obsess over the brand. At that time I didn't have Edith when we carried Bang Bang, but now I wish I would have bought up the whole collection just to have for when Edith did come along. I'm still in love with the black and white harlequin jumpsuit from seasons ago! Staying true to their style and their love for design, owners Louise Lundholm & Mia Risager create a unique and vivacious collection each season. Bang Bang is a brand you anxiously await for when a new season comes along. I had a lovely chit chat with Louise and Mia. This is what they had to say!

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF. WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND? HOW DID
BANG BANG GET STARTED?
BANGBANG Copenhagen is Louise Lundholm & Mia Risager, we are both educated from
the Danish Design school. Having both studied at the Danish design School we made a lot of projects together and
found out that we are a good team. So we knew that we wanted to make
some kind of brand together. So it was a playful process that started BANGBANG
Copenhagen, because we thought it would be nice to make a new brand for kids
where we could make playful and aesthetic clothes for kids.

WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM?
The name BANGBANG
Copenhagen is powerful and playful.

WHAT SEPERATES BANG BANG FROM OTHER BRANDS? WHAT DO YOU WANT
US TO KNOW ABOUT BANG BANG?
BANGBANG Copenhagen has its own look
because of the shapes, material mix, and the folded application details on each
style, so it is very easy for the costumer to recognize.
It is important for us to make nice
looking clothes which is nice for the kids to wear.

WHERE DOES YOUR INSPIRATION COME FROM FOR EACH COLLECTION?
We do not have a specific inspiration
for each collection. We continue to design along the BANGBANG Copenhagen style but add some new details and techniques.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE PLACE YOU GO TO FOR INSPIRATION?
We get inspired from our daily life, and when we travel.

DO YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC WHEN YOU ARE DESIGNING? IF YES WHO
ARE YOU LISTENING TO AT THE MOMENT?
We love to listen to music when we are working.
At the moment we are listening to a new
artist called Emily Wells from US because we saw her at a small intimate concert in
Copenhagen. This summer we have been listening to Daft Punk ( Get Lucky) like
anyone else J and Pharrel Williams Happy when we need some positive
energy for the long dark winther in Denmark.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE SOMEONE HAS GIVEN YOU?
Be true to your brand and belive in your project.

Be true to yourself.
